Happy Monday! We had a lovely weekend that teased us with the promise of warm weather. Apparently they call it fake Spring around here! We hit 80 one day and today, we’re back in the 50s with temps back in the 30s tonight! UGH!
But back to the weekend recap! Friday night, I was in a serious baking mood. I made my easy cinnamon buns because I wanted to have them for the boys over the weekend. They turned out so good and they were all devoured by the next day!
For dinner that night, I finally got around to making the Honey Siracha protein bowls that had been on the menu for the last couple of weeks. They were a HUGE hit! I served it with cauli rice for me and regular rice for the boys.
Cooper had some friends over, so I made some s’mores dip for them. It’s a simple fun snack with melted chocolate chips, then you top with marshmallows and broil quickly. I served it with graham crackers and it was gone far before I was able to snag a picture! The boys were hungry after boogie boarding in the mud down our unfinished back yard. I mean, there are far worse things for teenage boys to get into, right?!
While Coop was with his friends and The Hubs was at a work dinner, the little ones and I snuggled and watched a movie.
On Saturday morning, I hit my 400th strength milestone in the Peloton app! I am loving the Hard Core On The Floor workout program I’ve been following and it’s really helping me stay consistent.
After that, it was time for Opening Day of baseball! I LOVE watching my boys play ball! Thankfully it was such great weather for us to prepare me for cold nights at the ballpark this week!
Callan is pitching this year and I was so proud of him for throwing an amazing game with 6 strikeouts!
A quick change and it was time for an afternoon with friends on the lake! I was so happy to wear my new sandals!
I made lemon bars and a charcuterie board to bring. I had berries that they boys snagged before I had a chance to get them, so it looked a bit bland. But it was good and I introduced our Michigan friends to pickled okra!
While the air was warm, the water was not. It didn’t stop the kids from going in, but the local Michigan boys were sure enjoying it more than my southern men. Haha. They ran into the hot tub over and over to warm up. I guess our blood isn’t quite Michigan ready yet!
Sunday was still warm, so we watched church outside on the deck and took a long walk. Walking is one thing that I truly love about this area. I can’t wait until this trail is all lush and green!
We also did a lot of planning for our backyard Sunday afternoon. We are getting grass next month and are planning what trees and plants we want. I ordered a rug and am looking for decor for the back porch so we can really enjoy the sunsets down there this Summer!
I usually have a meal plan to go with this post, but I am totally winging in this week! Tonight we are having breakfast for dinner and Wednesday we’re going out for Cooper’s Birthday. How he is turning 14 this week is beyond me!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead!
