There are good reasons I’ve been gone. Good reasons for missing Fashion Friday, for all of you who gently reminded me that I didn’t do it. You made me smile, so thanks!
I was busy eating these
And basking in the loveliness of Birthday goodies. I got some good gift cards and a coat that I LOVE! (Doesn’t hurt that I picked it out…I’m a thinker.)
Going to dinner at one of my favorite places, with my wonderful parents
Going to dinner at one of my favorite places, with my wonderful parents
Doing lots and lots of shopping, looking for the perfect trifle bowl, which was eventually found at Wal-Mart of all places, and watching my dad try to rearrange the back of my car a gazillion times to fit all the shopping bags.
If all of that isn’t reason enough, I’m still sick. I’m not going to the Doctor’s office though, because I will totally get swine flu from all the germs up in there. My poor Dad got sick while he was here and spent the whole day yesterday in the bed while we went wine tasting. He was feeling better when it came time to get In-N-Out. Hehe. It does pretty much make everything better.
Taking my parents to the airport this morning was just plain awful. It wasn’t just the fact that I had to wake up at 4:15, either. I miss my family so much, and I’m not sure when I will see them again. I’m excited to see the hubs family for Christmas, and to be in NY, but the every other year thing sucks hard. Now that we have Coop, it’s just too difficult to get to NY and GA in a 2 week period. Trust me, we tried it last year and it was an awful idea. Think schedule completely ruined, sickness, and over 30 hours of airplanes and airports. Ugg, I get chills just thinking about it.
How do you spend the holidays? How do you deal if you don’t get to see your family?

I'm so glad you had a good birthday! So sorry you're still sick, I HATE being sick. Yuck.
I spend the holidays at home with my family. I can't imagine what it's like to have to do the every other year thing, I'd be sad too. But I'm sure last year with all of that travel wasn't good either! At least your cute parents were able to come for your birthday! And go wine tasting! I LOVE wine tasting!!!

I'm glad you had a good birthday. It's so nice to have family visit but so hard to watch them leave. Your cupcakes look absolutely delicious (that sounds kind of dirty, haha!) We're lucky enough to have most of our family here but unlucky enough to have a pretty large family on both sides. Basically we have to balance out the Holidays and figure out how to see everyone and of course our family gets mad if we don't fit everyone in. Sometimes I think it would be better if we lived all by ourselves far far away 🙂

Aw i'm missed you and Fashion Friday!! Glad you had a good birthday with your parents though.
I'm so sorry that you don't get to see your fam this year. That's a bummer. I'm lucky (I think) to have all of my family living right down the street from us. Husbands fam does too. I totally couldn't do the every other year thing.. i'm to selfish with my fam! haha! You'll have a good time in NY though i'm sure!!

Sounds like you had a lovely birthday. Dont you just love sprinkles? While I was at work I kept seeing people walking in with those bags and I asked "what is sprinkles" I never knew that this glorious wonderment of sweetness was right around the corner LOL

So glad you had a great birthday! You deserve it! Sad your fam had to go! 🙁
Both mine and John's parents live here, so we get to see everyone during the Holidays, but it is complete madness. Every other Thanksgiving we go to the beach and see his dads extended family. So, that is nice!
My parents are divorced and both remarried, so the scheduling is quite cray-cray!

Happy belated birthday! It sounds like you had a wonderful time!!
We always traveled for the holidays, but this Christmas, we're just staying home to build our own family traditions!

So glad you had such a wonderful birthday!! So sweet of your parents to come for it. You have such a wonderful family and I always admired all of you. I get to see my family for Thanksgiving next week and I am SO excited! It's so weird being away from them. I can't even imagine how you must feel being as far away from your family as you are. Have a fabulous day, sweet Molly!

Glad your birthday was wonderful!!! I'm really sorry that you don't get to see your parents more.. 🙁 I really don't have any advice on that one unfortunately…..I don't know what I would do if I didn't see my parents every now and then…..But, I know that we all have to deal with different situations…and you're a tough chick!
