Happy Tuesday! We had an eventful weekend with Callan’s first travel basketball tournament of the year. I’m really proud of myself because this weekend, I finished my first book in my goal 12 books this year! My family didn’t have very high hopes for my achievement, so I’m here to prove them wrong!
Let me start at Friday. I woke up, after watching too many cute Gen Z girlies on TikTok, and decided I needed to cut my own curtain bangs. I watched this video and went to work. In about 8 minutes, I had curtain bangs. Hahaha.
Friday night, we escaped with some friends for a quick date night at Licaris Pizza Kitchen. It was our first time and I had a cocktail, Just Lingering, that I need to recreate! They also have a different cheesecake every day, which happens to be my favorite dessert, so it’s not going to be my favorite Grand Rapids spot!

Saturday we were off for the tournament! Games weren’t until midday, so we just needed to stay 1 night. I think travel sports are the ultimate racket, but I am grateful to have found a great team for Callan that really is great for the kids and doesn’t require all that much travel.
The boys had a rough seed for the first set of games, but ended strong, winning the consolation bracket. They’re getting better as a team and having fun! Speaking of fun, we spent a lot of time in the the water park after the games. The place was like a smaller Great Wolf Lodge, which I appreciated being able to see all the kids without having to move around too much. I hardly got any pictures because we were enjoying our time! The boys went wild, the parents laughed a ton and a good time was had by all. I did a couple slides with my friend and thankfully, no one has photos of that! 🙂
Sunday, we came home and watched a late church, relaxed and prepped for the week. I went to the grocery store and hit the Chobani jackpot! Y’all know this is my FAVORITE creamer and I always stock up when I find new flavors! The White Chocolate is my current fave. I also made a quadruple batch of bagels and kale salad to start the week.
This week, I am so grateful for unseasonably warm weather. The unbelievable amount of snow from a couple weeks ago has mostly melted and we are around mid 30’s-low 40’s here this week! I never thought I’d be grateful for those temps, but this is usually the coldest week in Michigan, so I’m here for it!
Hope you’re all having a great week!
