We have been feeling very content lately with Cooper, and are not so sure that we want more kids. We have kindof decided that if we do want more, we need to do it before they would be 5 years apart. That gives us about 3 years to keep thinking about it. Or lets be honest, it gives us 3 years for another “surprise, you’re a fertile myrtle” baby. I keep thinking, what if I change my mind after we are supposed to be done? I think about my mom who had her tubes tied, then untied, then had 2 more kids 12 years later. What if I get perky new bubbies, then decide I want another baby? Ahhh…so hard.
A couple nights ago, we were lying in bed and I wanted to chat some more. Let me let you in on our bedroom convo.
Me: What if I decide I want another baby and I am too old?
Hubs: What do you mean? You just decide then.
(Then he started in with some comparison of buying ice cream or not at Safeway. You know, you just make a decision. Not that hard.)
Me thinking: Are you kidding me? Baby and ice cream are like the same decision?
Me: What? No, like if I am over 40 and can’t have kids anymore.
Hubs: Your mom had a baby at 43.
Me: Yes, I know, but people are going through menopause earlier and earlier these days. What if I do, and I can’t have another baby and I really wanted one?
Hubs: Menopause is not fun, right?
Me: No. Your hormones are all out of sorts, and it makes you crabby, just like that time of the month when my friend comes to visit. Only menopause last for years.
Hubs: Oh crap.
Haha!! That is funny he didnt know about menopause.
If you arent sure whether or not you want to have more kids.. I'd keep your options open. Just remember reverse tubals don't always work.. and its a surgery.

I had my boobs done twice before *Surprise* I found out I was pregnant. Now, I'm waiting until I have all of my children, no matter how long that takes to ever reconsider getting them redone! After all, pregnancy and nursing really take their toll!
i agree, very hard decisions, I would hate to regret not being able to have more if I ever had my tubes tied…eek!
This is funny!
LOL! convo with hubs is too funny!
your little man is such a cutie, i love that pic of him in the puppy outfit!
Hahaha! I think that you should keep your options open. I agree with PP Kati…reversing the tied tubes may not work, and you'd rather go with nature. You'll know when you are ready, and things will be right when you are. You'll be glad you didn't have to go through surgery any more than you want! I'd wait until after the kids to have the boobs done, too. I know a girl who did that, and hers look great! I've considered it, actually!

Too too funny!
Tough decisions. But one decision is easy… Kids first, then the boobs!
Ice cream and having a baby? Still scratching my head on that one!!
We are definitely all rowing in the same boat on this topic!
It makes you crabby? Talk about sugar coating!
I would wait until you are finished having kids. My sister had hers done and it was hard breastfeeding.
Your son is so cute! It is a hard decision. I thought I would have 1 or 2 and decided to have 4! You are young – you have time to decide.

I think the same thought ALL the time. Especially the perky new boobies part. Oh how I long for perky new boobies!
