Happy Monday! I feel like today is almost the first of the summer for us, since we had our carpets replaced last week. Our house was full of people everyday, but this week, we can start flying by the seat of our pants! One thing I really need to stay focused on this summer, is healthy habits. When our schedule is flexible, my workouts and eating tend to be more flexible. But this summer, I’m planning my workouts and committing to challenges to keep me focused! First up: The Water Drinking Challenge! I’m teaming up with Heather of My Life Well Loved and Jessica of Happily Hughes for 30 days of H2O!
Drinking water can boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and act as an appetite suppressant. I know that when I drink more water, I’m far less bloated, which can make a big difference in a swimsuit, girls! We should all be drinking about half our body weight in water every day. But factors such as caffeine intake, sun time and exercise, mean most of us need to up it a bit from there. I’ve seen a lot of places recommend up to your full body weight in water to help with weight loss. So for this 30 day water drinking challenge, I’m actually going for the big one and going to attempt a gallon a day!
I would love for you to join us on social media so we can all keep each other accountable! I will be posting a lot on Instagram and hope we can all push each other to a hydrated summer! This week is just the basics, then for the next 3 weeks, we might add in some more fun!
30 Day Water Drinking Challenge – Week 1
Day 1: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 2: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 3: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 4: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 5: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 6: 8+ glasses of water a day
Day 7: 8+ glasses of water a day
If you’re having a hard time drinking the plain water, try adding ice, sliced citrus, herbs like mint or basil, or drinking a no sugar added seltzer, like LaCroix.
One of the most important parts of this, is a cute water bottle! I take a big bottle around everywhere I go. The one pictured is from Walmart, but I don’t see it online! If you have a store, check in there because they had all sorts of cute summer colors and prints available. Once you have your bottle, figure out the capacity, so you can keep track and hit your goals. Here are some of my favorite bottles for this summer!
