Motherhood has a funny way of making us put everyone in the world a priority over ourselves. This shows in how we quickly eat (usually our kids’ leftovers and usually while standing), how our showers are often a group event and and how we shop for everyone else new necessities, but not ourselves.
I’ve talked before about the unmentionables in my drawers and how ridiculous some of the undies are that I was wearing years and years later. I’ve since done some cleaning in that department, but still have other areas to hit. One in particular? The bra drawer.
Let’s face it. Our bras get worked to death. Pregnancy, nursing, weight loss and gain…our bras don’t stand a chance. If you’re like me, you have a drawer full of bras. There’s a huge size range, most of which look like they’ve been worn for 15 years. (Or maybe they have been.) The bottom line? We need to go shopping.
For 100 years, Vanity Fair® has created bras that give support, lift and a little bit of luxury. Sounds like just what a mom needs, right? They offer feminine and beautiful lingerie in styles that are on trend. Yes, you read that right. Trend. Meaning our bras should change as the trends do. Their bras have minimalistic prints, making them perfect for everyday wear. The price point is also one that allows for bras to be purchased on a regular (needed) basis. And all the husbands rejoice!
Vanity Fair® has recently launched the Women Who Do campaign. It’s dedicated to praising and celebrating everyday triumphs of women everywhere. A lot of those triumphs are the things that cause that bra to not fit quite right anymore! They hope to spark a movement that inspires women to support each other. They’ve also teamed up with Dress for Success to promote independence of disadvantaged women, also helping them replenish their lingerie in preparation for the workforce.
In July, Vanity Fair® and Dress for Success kicked off a national #LiftTOUR. A bus will travel across the country, conducting bra fittings and finding a perfect fit for each woman. For every woman that comes to the bus for a fitting, Vanity Fair® will donate a brand-new bra to a local Dress for Success affiliate. Check here to see if they are coming to a city near you, so you can take part in this wonderful way to give back.
It’s inspiring to me when I see large companies taking steps to better our country and I love how Vanity Fair® is doing it! Who inspires you? Tell me in the comments for a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card to spruce up your bra drawer!

My toddlers inspire me! Until recently I was unable to lose the last of my baby weight- I was breastfeeding and thought I was doing everything right- eating healthy, working out, tons of water- but apparently I was not eating enough. I made it to a year exclusively breastfeeding my little girl-thankfully my supply wasn’t affected- but now that I am eating MUCH more than I had I am dropping weight- fast. I had started really getting down on myself because I thought I was doing everything I should be- sure enough I started saying how I felt about my body out loud. Well, two toddlers need to know that their mom is proud of her body. And I snapped myself back to reality. No negative body talk around my two littles-which surprisingly or not surprisingly has made this a much happier process.

I am inspired by not a person but nature itself. Nature is perfect. It requires nothing from us to do what needs done. It only requires every cog in the wheel to do its part while not harming the other parts of the whole. If humans could learn from this, as I have, the world would be a much better place.
