Oh, swimsuit season. We’re a mere 6 weeks from when I will be in a bathing suit at the beach and I’m not exactly ready. I’ve been working out, using the My Fitness Pal app (LOVE it!) and trying to be prepared, but part of the issue, is the bathing suits themselves. Do you ever feel like you look better naked than when your suit makes everything go in all the wrong directions? It’s really similar to a can of busted biscuits.
I will be 30 this year. 30 y’all. I’m actually quite angry about it. I’m torn between looking more modest as a near 30 year old mom and wearing suits that I think are more flattering. I have such a short torso, that most 1 piece suits just don’t fit me right. Although, some of the ones I found on my search for a new suit may really be worth a shot. There are some fabulous looking 1 pieces out right now!
So should I give myself my last year in my 20s to wear a bikini, then cover it all up next summer? Or forget all the rules and wear what I want? Like that one shoulder ruffle number? Gahhh, I love it! You can click on the pictures to go check out my finds. I may be seeing some on my doorstep in 3-5 business days.

I think we can wear bikinis in our 30s. I think get one you can run after kids in if they will be with you.

Um I think you look fab! Go for the bikini if that's what you look and feel best in! As for me, I will be doing a 1 piece!! 🙂

I think you'll find that your 30's are some of your best years, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with rocking a bikini if you can. I personally love the one shoulder black ruffled one. Age appropriate, but still fun and flirty. I was scared of turning 30 too, but it has been nothing short of wonderful.

I didn't wear a bikini *until* I was in my 30s. I say go for it 🙂

I'm the same age as you and I will certainly be rocking my bikini at the beach this year, and for many years to come! Besides there's always going to be plenty of people at the beach who totally shouldn't be wearing a teeny bikini! (maybe I should stop hanging out at redneck beaches…)

Dude, you are smokin. Wear that dang bikini!!! I totally would, but I'll be a whale this summer! haha

I have the same issues you have with a short torso, bikini's just look better on me than a tankini or a one piece. I also am kinda busty so that makes it hard for me to not to show too much cleavage. For me I think it is more modest to show your stomach, than to show too much up top. That black suit is adorable, you are tempting me with it!! 🙂

WEAR IT! You look amazing. ROCK it, sister. Besides, if I'm wearing a bikini this weekend, you can definitely wear one in 6 weeks!

I'm a year older than you and toyed with the bikini thing a couple of years ago because of the "mom" thing. I am not even close to as tiny as you but the last two years I wore a bikini and felt more comfortable than I did in any of my tankinis. Something about being tan that trumped the one piece for me. This summer may be a little different since I just had a baby, but we'll see what my belly does over the next few weeks. In the words of knocked up, "tighten it back up"…

I'm in my late 30's and still wear a bikini and am not nearly as fit as you. I'll be hitting the gym over the next 6 weeks before beach bikini time. Go for it! I have a short torso too and it's just too hard to find one pieces that work.

I have a long torso and I still thought I looked MUCH weirder in a one piece than a bikini. I do feel somewhat crazy buying a bikini at 32 with 3 kids, but I figure if I really need to, I can throw on a tank or some board shorts to even things out 🙂

I feel strongly that a woman should rock a bikini as long as she can. Plus, there's a difference between a stylish bikini and a hoochie mama bikini. I'm 34 and still wear one.

I'm right there with you on the short torso problem. Which is why at 31 I still rock bikinis only and have no plans to stop! You have the body for it, so screw the age;-)

Personally I feel much more comfortable in a one-piece, especially after having a child. But girl, if you feel good in a bikini then go and rick it! Have fun!

I'm almost 33 (eek) with 2 little boys and I would still wear a 2 piece!! I figure I might as well rock the bikini for as long as I can!! And you look amazing so why not??!!! Just make sure it's "respectable" and not too hoochie!! lol

I think you look amazing and that black bikini is adorable. I think that if you have the body for it (which you do) rock that bikini till your 50!
