Since the start of quarantine, we made a point to keep electronics at a minimum and ramp up the outdoor time. During our beach trips this year, we rented bikes and had the absolute best time on family rides. We knew that incorporating these rides into our daily life was something we wanted to add to our regular routine at home.
We started off our bike riding adventures a bit late in life for our oldest 2 boys. I realized looking back that Callan only learned to ride his bike without training wheels last fall! With Lincoln, things have been completely different. He got a size 2 woom bike when he was just over 3 years old. The woom bikes are extremely lightweight, making them perfect to learn on. We have seen how big of a difference this makes in the comfortability of riding solo, because Lincoln was riding on his own before he turned 5!
woom bikes
We partnered with woom bikes ahead of the holidays this year, because bikes are a HOT item on Christmas lists for 2020. Since bikes are harder to come by, I wanted to share our experience with this great brand over the last couple of years and encourage you to order ASAP for Christmas delivery. The woom bikes size 1-5 are available for preorder now!
Obviously, Lincoln has grown a LOT since he got the woom 2 bike and it was time for a bigger one. This week, he got his new size 4 woom bike in the mail, along with a size 5 for Callan. Cooper is in the size 6 now, which is a bit later on delivery times, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for his.
Lincoln has been flying around, 100% confident. I’m so proud to watch him keep right up with his big brothers at such a young age!
Callan couldn’t believe the difference going from his old (not woom) bike, to the woom 5. The bikes have gears, making our hilly neighborhood much easier to ride through. He kept saying how fast and smooth it is! I think the “fastness” he feels is because of the lighter weight of the bike. He can easily pick the whole thing up by himself!
One of my favorite accessories, are the bike lights. They are a set that includes a front and back light that are usb charging and perfect for riding right now with the sun setting earlier!
woom also has a program called upCYCLE, that you can add to your bike purchase. This enables you to get 40% of your original purchase price of your bike applied to a larger bike when your child is ready! Check here for all the details of the program, but this is a lifetime membership for one child, so it makes for a whole childhood of great biking.
If you’re interested in bike assembling on Christmas Eve, go ahead and place your pre-order now! And if you’re scared of the assembly process, don’t be. This one went from box to riding worthy in less than 20 minutes!
I am so glad we have this newfound family hobby and can’t wait to get some good miles in on our bikes!
