Life is short…let’s have a party! I seriously love hosting a party and it doesn’t take much of an excuse for me to throw one! Mickey is Lincoln’s absolute favorite right now, so we decided to have some friend’s over for a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playdate. We just booked a trip to Disney and hearing my kids shrieks of excitement when they saw this setup made me SO excited to take them to the most magical place on earth!
One thing I don’t do enough at parties, is set up activities. I’m all about the decor! So this time, I set up a little craft station.
Activities:
Coloring
Make your own party hats
The food is always a fun part. Since we had a morning playdate, I opted for some breakfast type options and some sweets.
Menu:
Berry Muffins
Banana Muffins
Grapes
Cheese and Crackers
Popcorn
Mickey Pops (made from Oreos)
Tips:
Use practical decor. I set up a drink tower out of my regular centerpiece on the table. The Mickey cups were adorable decorations! I also got Mickey placemats, which made for really easy cleanup, but looked so cute on the table.
Get crafty with food. I cut the cheese into Mickey shapes with a cookie cutter. If it were lunchtime, I would do the same with bread and turkey as well, or PB&J sandwiches.
Play outside. If you have decent weather, send everyone outdoors! We spent a lot of time outside at our party and my house was back to normal an hour after everyone left. Having a party doesn’t have to be a huge mess!
Pump the tunes. I turned on the Radio Disney channel through the speakers in our house. I was expecting just songs you hear on TV, but they were playing those, along with a bunch of current songs that are edited for little ears. Moms and kids alike were happy!
