While the whole world is up in the air with unknown right now, a lot of us will be spending a lot more time with our families. I am feeling very grateful for it and just trying to make the best out of the chaos! While you’re enjoying the time with your family, I thought you might be interested in a few of our favorite board games that you play during the downtime!
Kids Against Maturity
If you like Cards Against Humanity, this is the perfect family game for you! I got it before this beach trip and we rolled laughing playing it. Note: you have to be okay with “potty” words like “fart” to play this one!
Ticket To Ride
This is probably our favorite family game and it’s made many trips with us. It’s a bit pricy for a board game, but in my opinion, it’s totally worth it! Callan started playing when he was 7 and understands the game perfectly.
Sequence
I love this game because it’s great for families, or adults! It really makes you focus and think about the game and is really high on my favorite game list.
Monopoly Cheaters Edition
We just got this one for Christmas, but it’s been a big hit already. It is the same basic concept as Monopoly, but you can steal people’s hotels, cards and turns. The boys think it’s really fun to be allowed to “break the rules”!
Hand and Foot
This isn’t a board game, but a card game that we started playing with my in-laws. We have big hand and foot tournaments when we are all together and while it’s a long game, it’s SO FUN. It’s going to be easier for older (middle school and up) kids to grasp, although Callan (8 years old) has played and likes it, too. It’s derived from Canasta and all you need is 4 decks of cards. I found Hand and Foot instructions here for you to learn!
Do you have any favorites that we should try? Leave in the comments if you have a great one to share with others!
