Happy Friday! I know people are talking about how long January feels, but I’m not in that boat, y’all! Maybe it was our late Christmas break that didn’t have us starting until the 8th, or the fact that we’ve had so many snow days that it feels like vacation still. Regardless of why, it’s gone fast for me! We are heading off to a basketball tournament for Callan this weekend. Going to put my pale, January body in a bathing suit and live it up at the indoor waterpark with the kids! Before that, though, I wanted to share a Friday favorites post! Lots of random things currently that I hope you love, too.
Food
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I just finished a full 2 week meal plan and it was a big success! No eating out or stressing about what to cook for 14 straight days was glorious. I am working to get it all in a blog post for those that want to try it. There were a few stand out foods/snacks we’ve had lately that I need to share!
These Kodiak protein balls are so delicious and easy. I have made many homemade recipes, but dang. Everyone loves a clean, healthy snack made easier, right? I just found this kit at Costco and you just add but butter and honey.
The sleepytime mocktail is taking over social media! I didn’t set out for a dry January, but have only had a couple drinks all month. This mocktail in a wine glass is tasty and gives me just a little relaxation before bed. I do about 3oz tart cherry juice (contains tryptophan that helps the body produce melatonin) 1 scoop of magnesium glycinate powder (aids in relaxation) and the rest plain lime seltzer.
This was a 10/10 out of all 5 family members! These sticky chicken fingers are crunchy, but not fried, and have a perfectly sweet and spicy sauce. I did half without sauce for the ones who would rather dip in ketchup.
Meal prep containers are essential for our on the go schedule, while trying to keep healthy. These containers are great for homemade lunchables, that my kids like to take to school, or for the family to snack on between games.
Fashion
Now for a random collection of some new and current favorite fashion pieces! I just got these wide leg cargo jeans and The Hubs say they remind him of when we first met. They’re a mid rise and juniors sizing, so I went up 1 size.
This cropped cardigan is soft, a perfectly cropped length and has side slits. I wore it out on a date night last weekend and need it in all the colors!
These flare leggings are a must if you’re short! They come in lengths and are currently on lightning deal! I wear the 30″ length in a size small. The 1/4 zip hoodie is another favorite that works well for cheering on the Lions in this blue color.
I shared this waffle knit sweater yesterday on Instagram (still has a 30% off coupon!) and got a lot of questions about my jeans. They are a wide leg jean, but not too wide, and a really great fit. I got these in a petite size and they’re a perfect length for boots.
I know it’s not quite time for Spring shopping, but this dress is a new arrival, comes in lots of colors and is $34! I wanted to share it because it has a high sell out risk. Would be so cute for a Spring/Summer wedding or Easter.
Speaking of Spring, in a quick stroll through the clothing section at Target yesterday, these adorable shorts jumped out at me. I’m here for this style this year! Love the pleats, all the colors they come in, the wide leg and they’d look so cute with my favorite high neck tanks.
Fun
Besides lots of basketball games, we’ve had a lot of fun in the snow. We got 13 straight days of measurable snowfall recently and it’s been so pretty. It is warming and melting now, but I know that is short lived! I have my heart set on cross country skiing, so I’m actually looking forward to a bit more snow!
If you’re interested in following along with the basketball fun, I’ll be over on Instagram! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
