Mother’s Day weekend 2024 was one well spent! I love that Mother’s Day forces the family to spend non complaining time with me. Hehe. We did all the fun family things and I actually think the kids enjoyed it!
Friday, we went to Lincoln’s school for their annual 2nd grade marketplace. Each year, the 2nd graders come up with a business model and have to sell their items to all the parents for “school money”. It’s a great little math lesson and lots of fun! Linc and his friend were “The Sugar Bros” and sold cotton candy and Air Heads.
We walked home to enjoy the beautiful weather and had dinner al fresco. It’s more beautiful than not lately and I can’t wait until it’s full on Spring weather!
That night was the northern lights in full display! I couldn’t believe when I walked outside at how gorgeous it was right in our yard.
On Saturday morning, The Hubs took me to the greenhouse for a few new plants. I got ferns to hang on the back deck and some pretty succulents for the kitchen window. I think I am becoming a plant lady after seeing how well my fiddle fig is growing for me!
Baseball was up next and the weather was back to it’s Michigan antics. I was cozy and warm inside my pod and was especially grateful when it started drizzling! Lincoln had a great game and is really crushing the ball, even playing up for his age!
Mother’s Day morning, I woke up to the boys making breakfast and some sweet notes and gifts. We ate and watched church before the boys had to take off for baseball practice. I spent that time enjoying some sunshine on the back deck.
Callan said he gave me exactly what I asked for – a clean house and a little respect. 🙂
I am a creature of habit and we usually get Olive Garden takeout for Mother’s Day. But, about 6 weeks ago, I took a food sensitivity test that showed I was highly reactive to yeast and wheat, so I’ve been trying to cut it out. So, mexican and margaritas it was!
After dinner, we walked to ice cream and I forced the obligatory mom picture! Can you even believe how tall my babies are getting?!
I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend with those special to you!
