What an ending to the school year! I signed up for literally everything. EVERYTHING. Field trips, field day, end of year celebrations, you name it, I was there. I feel so blessed to be able to work my schedule around being in the boys schools! I chaperoned 8 6th grade boys at a ranch for a field trip and it was exciting! We did archery, threw tomahawks, shot bbs at targets and really got some serious steps in during our 8 hours there.
The next day, Cooper and I went to Ohio for my nephews graduation. This is our 3rd nephew to graduate and it’s making me feel old! I had a great 24ish hours with my family, even though I hardly got any pictures.
We went to my sister’s salon, Shelby Lane Beauty, and all got some permanent jewelry. I love how fancy this anklet makes me feel, even at the ballpark! 🙂
With about 2 hours until we were slated to leave, Cooper, my mom and myself were driving from my parents to my sisters to have lunch before we left. We were about 2 miles away when a car failed to yield and pulled right out in front of us. Cooper was driving and was very quick to swerve to only clip the backside of the lady’s car and the front left of ours, instead of driving right into her door! It was terrifying and the airbags both went off. I had no idea they smoked and yelled at everyone to jump out of the car, so we did. I quickly realized the car was still rolling and jumped back in to try to step on the brake, just as Cooper realized the same thing and pushed the emergency brake down with his hand. It was quite the shake up, let me tell you! We are very thankful no one was hurt and that witnesses were there to tell the police what happened. Now we are waiting on their insurance company to tell us the car is totaled of if it’s repairable. We are expecting the former, with what everyone has told us and I’m honestly so sad about it! I LOVE that car and it’s been so good to us. I’m not ready to get rid of her, but know that everything happens for a reason.
We got a 1 way rental to get home for Lincoln’s field trip the next day! We went to John Ball Zoo and after living here 3 years, I can’t believe we’d never been. It’s a really pretty and easily walkable zoo. The second half was at a trampoline park followed by some froyo!
Callan had field day where he competed in several events. He came in second in softball throw and his class very narrowly lost the relay race. My boy was speedy!
The night before the last day of school, we went to a charity dinner with The Hubs coworkers for First Tee. I had to share this gorgeous dress that I wore because it’s literally $12 today! Original was only $39, but it keeps going on sale! It fits TTS and I’m wearing a small.
Finally, the last day of school! This year has been long and super short at the same time. I can’t believe the boys wrapped up 3 years of school here. We are incredibly thankful for our time at these amazing schools and how much our boys have grown being a part of it!
This Summer is so full of change for our family and I will keep documenting as we go along. But first, TONS of baseball!!!
