Thanksgiving break was oh, so nice. I loved spending so much time with my boys and having my family come and visit. We started Wednesday with a trip to get our Christmas tree. I didn’t want to decorate before Thanksgiving, but we went ahead and got our tree so we had it ready to decorate on Sunday.
On Thanksgiving morning, The Hubs, Cooper, my sis, her son and I ran in our neighborhood Turkey trot. Our neighborhood is pretty hilly, so it wasn’t the easiest 5K, but we had fun together. I couldn’t believe that the kids ran about 95% of the time!
I was responsible for the turkey, bacon wrapped green beans, mashed potatoes and, at my hubs request, my mother-in-law’s apple pie.
We moved the furniture around a bit to create seating for 15 in the dining room. (And we drank several mimosas during the process.)
I forgot to take the turkey out of the freezer until Tuesday, so I was nervous how it would turn out after it’s 24 hour cold water bath. Luckily, it was cooked to perfection!
Had to add in one of the several selfies I found of my brother on my phone!
Having my sisters in my kitchen is always fun!
This picture was taken right after Cooper lost his third tooth! He got blood on his shirt and I made them give me a “cheese” before I took it to the wash.
Friday brought all things Christmas! We drank coffee with peppermint whipped cream and sprinkles after a morning of shopping.
This is the original 7. 2 of us are now married and there are 6 grandbabies in the mix!
Everyone headed out on Sunday morning, then we pulled out all the Christmas decor. Last year, we didn’t decorate much since we moved into our house on December 20 and the movers didn’t bring our stuff until December 23! I was so excited to cover the house with with festiveness!
I found my holiday Starbucks aprons from back in my Barista days and whipped up Peppermint Mocha Martinis. I will have to share the recipe soon. So yum!

On Monday morning, our little buddy, Jack, showed up with a note for the boys from Santa. I can’t wait to see what kind of magic he creates around here this year.

Having family around for Thanksgiving is seriously the best. I cannot wait to see your house decorated for the holidays. This year our daughter (2.5 years old) is SO excited for a Christmas tree (that is all she is requesting from Santa) that we are going to put it up earlier than we normally do. So excited to see her eyes LIGHT UP!
