I will be taking a little break from my blog to be with family. Today I found out that my dear grandpa “Popa” passed away. After nearly a month in the hospital from a broken hip, his body just couldn’t recover. It was his time.
That doesn’t make it any easier, though.
The tears still flow, even though my mind is filled with great memories of his life.
He dipped my passie in his coffee when I was 1, and I’ve been addicted ever since.
He was a huge Civil War collector and did question me about the “damn yankee” I brought to meet him. After a beer with the hubs, he gave his stamp of approval.
He has a Purple Heart for his amazing bravery in fighting for our country.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

You better believe I will be fashionably dressed for his funeral. Every time I saw him, he would tell me how “in” my outfit was, and all about the trends he read about lately. Popa, you will truly be missed, by me, and so many others that loved you deeply.

Aww, Molly. I am so sorry! 🙁 This post just made me cry. I know how hard it is to lose a grandparent. Your grandfather sounds like he was a great man. I love that he was up to date on fashion trends! Too cute. 🙂 Praying for you during this rough time.

Molly! I am so sorry. I just lost my own grandpa less than a month ago. Totally understand. You take as much time as you need. don't forget to let yourself cry…it really does help. Praying for you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. I just lost my grandfather this past November. Even though you can rationalize what a long full life they led, it's still unreal. Enjoy surrounding yourself with your family and remembering him together.
