In 2003, I moved from Florida to New York to be with the hubs. I graduated nursing school there. We got married. Moved into our first place together. We were there 3 years and 4 months before his job moved us to California.
We loved it there. The weather and the things to do were beyond. We had our first baby, moved from an apartment to a house and realized that being so far from family was really hard. 3 years and 1 month later, they moved us to DC.
We bought our first house. Our second baby was born. We made amazing friends. 3 years and 4 months later, it’s time for more adventure in our lives.
We are moving!
We will be calling Charlotte, NC home next month! I’m so excited and sad to leave all at the same time. Billy’s sister and her family are here and our neighborhood is honestly the most exciting one ever. There has been no lack of tears since we found out last week. It’s bittersweet. I’m stressed about selling the house (and by that I mean keeping it clean to show). I’m nervous about the transition of the move affecting Cooper starting school in August and about finding a new house that I love as much as this one.
At the same time, I have friends down there that I’m excited to live near. I can’t wait to explore a new city, find a new favorite restaurant and meet new people. I’m thrilled to be moving closer to my family. We’ve always talked about Charlotte and this is a great opportunity for my husband that we could’t pass up!
I will be a mad woman over the next week getting our house ready to put on the market. Oh and getting ready to go on a cruise next week. It’s not crazy around here or anything. Anyone want to come help with my mile long to-do list? I pay in wine and straw-ber-ritas.
that is so exciting! we want to get out of MN someday and always talk about NC or SC as an option! i die for the ocean. i love how many times you and your hubby have moved — what great memories full of enrichment! good luck staying sane mama, you can surely do it!! & take the cruise to relax!
Molly!!!!!!! I saw this on Facebook today and was gonna text you, but ya know how that goes with us. 😉 WOW! This is big for y'all! I'll be praying the transition goes well. 🙂 Love you all!!!
Exciting! North Carolina is one of my favorite states! My brother just moved to Chapel Hill and I've got family about 20 minutes from Charlotte so hopefully we can meet sometime there!!
Also, I first started reading when you were staying in a hotel getting ready to move into your house! Crazy!!
Oh Molly, how exciting!! I've been to NY, CA, & DC and absolutely loved them all but haven't {yet} visited NC so I'll be excited to hear all about it through you! All the very best of luck with the move; you will be fine! I wish I could take my own advice though; my family and I are moving from Australia to Thailand in 3 weeks time! Eeek!
Congrats! I live 20 miles west of Charlotte, and it's such a great place to live! I'm a fairly new blog reader but I love what you write about and I love your #whatmollywore pics on Instagram.
Very exciting!! 🙂
You're going to do great! Can't wait to have a new city to visit soon! 🙂
YAY! That's so exciting! I bet you'll call it home soon enough!
Ok, I definitely NEED to see you before you move away! We gotta set a date!!!
Congratulations Molly! I am so excited for you & your family on this new adventure. I hear Charlotte is amazing. And how wonderful to be closer to your family!
Congratulations! I love Charlotte.
Any chance your house could get shown while you are on your cruise?? That would make it easy to keep clean between showings!

Wow! That's awesome…congrats! I wish I had the guts to move around as much as you guys have.
Welcome to Charlotte! We just moved here with our little one in January and we love it! It's a really neat city with so much to see and do.
Yay, you're going to be close to me 🙂 We live outside of Charlotte
I live right outside of Charlotte, NC! Now I can say "Hey, Molly from Stilettos and Diapers lives CLOSE TO ME! 🙂 Hehe
That is so exciting! I'm sure it's all giving you a bit on anxiety but it will be a WONDERFUL new experience. Looking forward to hearing all about the move and your new home!
How exciting!
Wish you the best on your move!
Wishing you the best! I can imagine moving away from 'home!'
Congratulations on your exciting news!!! Can't wait to read all about your new journey!
Be sure to not sell the house within the next month & I can help in anyway possible.
An adventure!! You'll love NC (says the native Western North Carolinian!) I live just west of Asheville. Y'all definitely have to visit the mountains while you're there…most beautiful mountains on earth!! (I may be biased!) My best friend lives in Charlotte and loves it. It's a neat city!! Congrats and good luck with the house!! Ours is currently listed and keeping it show ready with 3 littles…ugh!!! I'll say a prayer for ya!
Ha! We actually just signed on a house right outside of Charlotte today! We'll both be figuring out this new city!!! Good luck with everything girl. We gave ourselves two weeks to move and it's been a DISASTER!!
Wow – congrats & good luck with all the new adventures!
Good luck! And I had no idea that you were a nurse!
I'm on a deadline for work this week, but count me in next week to come help out! If for nothing else than an excuse to spend time before you leave…sad face 🙁

Congrats Molly!!! Very happy for you. Good luck with home sales. Maybe NC holds baby #3! 🙂 lol Also, do you have to get re-certified in every state as an RN?
We just moved to NC from AZ about a year ago. We so so so love it here! 😀 Haven't really been to Charlotte, pretty sure we were tired of driving and passed it on by…
This is an exciting time in your life!! 😀 Love it!!
AHHHH OMGGGG! This is so stinking exciting! Well, from an outsider's perspective anyway – I'm sure packing a house in a month, with two kids, is probably not the most fun task – BUT, holy bananas, that sounds like theeee most amazing place to live! In actuality, I know nothing about NC or Charlotte, but I imagine it to be the perfect southern location – charm and class, very green, with beautiful brick houses. And sweet tea. Your life is so dang adventurous – I freaking love it! And how awesome that you'll be closer to your family! Win!
Now I so wish I lived near you – even more – to help with that to-do list. I'm going bananas here without having a house of my own to keep up. I miss grocery shopping. Womp womp. 😉
Anyway, congrats and cannot even wait to read along your moving journey!!
How exciting! Best of luck to you!
