I’m the mom of 2 teenagers! I literally can’t believe how fast they’re growing up! Callan is not only 13 but he has officially passed me in height! We had a really fun weekend of celebrating him, along with Halloween. It’s always a whirlwind of days, but being off school for a 4 day weekend made this year an especially fun one.
Halloween lunches were not as exciting as they have been in the past, as I couldn’t find most of my Halloween decor and goods. I still managed to throw in a few fun things and call it a day!
I was able to find my skull muffin pan, which I think it too fun, and we had skull pizza calzones for dinner!
Callan decided to be the inflatable dinosaur that he was a couple years ago (or last year?). Lincoln really wanted to be Grimace because he was the New York Met’s lucky charm for the playoffs this year! They were both cute in their “I can’t even see your faces” kinda way! Cal went to his friends house to trick or treat with his buddies and Linc was our solo kids in the neighborhood. I will say Grimace lasted about 10 houses before he was deflated because he was far too hard to walk in!
The next morning, while coming off a Halloween sugar high, was Callan’s 13th! The boys luckily had school off and it was a really nice day of hanging out and relaxing. He started the day off with presents, did a lot of video gaming with the boys of the house and then family dinner.
There’s a new burger spot nearish to us that has been a hit with our family. Callan picked Baes Burgers and it was really a fun dinner choice! The garlic parmesan fries are simply…delish.
Super late, after the football game that night, we had cake and he finally got his birthday song and candles.
The next day was his party and I am SO grateful for his NC friends that he has maintained a relationship with! These guys have been buddies since preschool/kindergarten and it’s been so special to see their relationship right back where it was since we moved back. Throw in a couple new school buddies and I’m so happy to see these kids loving time together!
My middle little – you are loved more than you know! I’m SO proud of your character, your heart and the kindness that fills you. Happy Birthday, Cal!
