Our favorite place to get fresh seafood to cook at home is Dougs Seafood Market, just over the bridge on the mainland. If you’re looking for higher end food, Jinks on the island or Oyster Rock in nearby Calabash are our top picks. For a more casual, family vibe, while still enjoying the local seafood, Ocean Isle Fish Co. is our favorite. Don’t skip the cocktails served in a souvenir coconut head.
This was the first time we have vacationed with friends, outside of family, and it was such a great experience with dear friends from Michigan.
We also rented a golf cart on this trip for the first time, from Beach Bum Rentals, and it made getting around the island so convenient. Also really great to be able to easily show our friends all around the island that has captured our hearts!
