There really aren’t enough words to describe how strange it feels to have a 16 year old! For some of you, you’ve been reading about Cooper’s life since the beginning of this blog. He’s really the reason I started it and I’m so glad that I made that decision nearly 16 years ago now. You can read all about his birth story here and I love looking back on the recap of his whole childhood.
Coop is just all around an incredible kid. Great grades, amazing athlete, mature, respectful, driven and very talented in his videography/photography skills. He’s worked really hard and gotten lots of jobs creating these hype videos and photos for local athletes that just blow me away. I am so proud of him and can’t wait to see how he uses his talents in his future!
Cooper is 16
He didn’t want a lot of fuss on his Birthday and made it difficult for me to be extravagant in celebrating. We had a chill day with breakfast and gifts at home, beautiful weather for lots of basketball and dinner of his choice in Grand Rapids. I made him a tower of gifts for the protein lover and wrapped up 16 of his favorite little things. It turned out so cute!
I know his hair makes him even taller than he is, but this picture we took on the way into dinner surprised me at just how tall he is! Coming in right at 6’1″ now, he is a big kid. He is so mature and well spoken that most people think he is much older than he is!
The kid loves Mexican food and wanted to go to Condado Taco for dinner. I celebrated 16 years of parenthood with a margarita flight, which is not to be missed if you eat there!
Coop takes after me in not being a big cake fan, but he loves a strawberry trifle. I made that and dangerously topped it with 16 burning candles. Thankfully he got them blown out rather quickly before my trifle dish burned up!
As part of his 16th birthday gift, he is currently on a father son trip to LA with The Hubs! They jetted off this week for 3 nights together checking out the city, muscle beach, Rodeo drive and all the delicious food LA has to offer. He was so excited leaving, even with a 4:30am departure. I am loving all the pics they’re sending and Cooper is in his element videoing and taking pictures of everything!
Happy Birthday, Cooper! I am so proud of who you are and love you more than you know!
