I really love fall layers, cozy knits and the straight up comfort that comes with cooler weather wear. While we’ve only had glimpses of crisp in the air here, I’m beginning to embrace the fact that summer is coming to a close.

 The thing I look for most in a fall wardrobe is comfort. I want to be able to snuggle up on the couch with my babies before school, look dressed up for errands and play dates and be ready to go out to dinner or hang out at home for the night. While pajamas are good for a couple of these things, life in pajamas, even for a stay at home mom, is no option. Ever make the decision to go to school drop off in those PJs? Yep. The only day something goes wrong and you have to get out of the car. Don’t do it, y’all. Trust me.

I love to layer basics with a pop of color. I paired an old button down with a new tunic from J. Jill’s fall Ponte collection. The whole line is made with a rayon, nylon and spandex blend, making them more durable, while still machine washable. This lightweight tunic is so soft, doesn’t wrinkle and would be perfection for travel! It is loose-fitting, but has that A-line cut that is flattering on any body shape.

Let’s take a sec to talk about these leggings. There hasn’t been a fall gone by that the hubs didn’t give me a hard time for my “see through” leggings. It’s true, though. Most leggings I’ve bought are thin to start with, and then get thinner as they’re worn. These leggings are also part of the Ponte collection from J. Jill. They have small side zip pockets, the coverage of pants and all the comfort of leggings. Oh, and the hubs approves!

    Great post! My fav fall look is leggings with a long top and knee high boots. I loved being preggo last fall. Leggings were the only thing that fit so a cute long maternity top and boots was my go to! I love red plaid also with jeans and brown boots.

    My favorite fall look is a pair of leggings worn with a long blouse or a tunic with black tall boots. I love comfortable clothes! I also love earthtone colors.

    i haven't found a favorite fall look because i am so frumpy in all of it! but scarves and oversized sweaters are a must!! LOVE how you put this outfit together. yep. you rock it. and yep, your eyes are mesmerizing!

    Love the look! J. Jill has some really great things, some is a little too "mom-like" for me right now. Baby planning though, maybe then I'll wear more J. Jill! 😉

    My favorite fall look is leggings, boots, a white tank, chambray and my J.Crew statement necklace. I always feel great in this outfit, both comfort and confidence wise.

    My favorite fall look is a long wool skirt with a tunic and ankle boots. Must be earthy colors – I love to pair pumpkin and chocolate and add accents with turquoise or raspberry.

    I don't really have a fav fall look per se. I wear the same clothing year around basically and just switch cargo capris for reg cargo pants and vneck t shirts for long sleeved t shirts. LOL
