Backyard Baseball
My boys do this with my hubby nearly every day. But take it to the next level by bringing the whole family into it, keeping score and someone getting bragging rights. You could also try a family outing to a local ball game. We don’t have major league baseball here, but the minor league games are just as fun! (They still have hotdogs and cracker jacks!)
Brewery
I’m not sure about where you live, but North Carolina is home to tons of up and coming micro breweries. Many of them are family friendly as well as being a perfect spot to hang out and have a picnic.
Boating
We are a boat loving family. We spend tons of time on the lake and I love every minute of it. Don’t have a boat? Look into renting one, or if your kids are old enough, maybe a canoe or paddle boat. If all else fails, find a body of water and relax awhile. Then pull out some buckets and see if anyone can keep dry! (I always win this game…someone has to take pictures of the craziness!)
Grilling
Who doesn’t love a good bbq? We typically will grill up burgers or chicken, but you could try something a little fancier for a special event. Filet, kabobs, or fish and veggies in foil packets would be great for a Father’s Day outdoor meal. Once year, I got The Hubs a grill tool set with his team logo on it, so if you’re planing on grilling, that might be a good gift!
Visit a Park
Wether it’s for a picnic, a hike, or a family bike ride, a park is a nice, relaxing place to spend Father’s Day. A spot that the kids can run around and entertain themselves makes the day even more relaxing for Dad.
All of these fun Father’s Day outings can be done wearing Crocs! With trendy new styles and bold summer colors, Crocs are the perfect outdoor activity shoe. I love the boys to wear them in the summertime, because they add much more protection than a flip flop, but with all the ease. You can also spray them off with the hose, which is very important in a household of boys!
