I’m not sure why it’s apparently a “thing” to have annual Father’s Day weekend baseball tournaments, but this wasn’t our first and probably won’t be our last! We did have a great weekend, even though the majority of it was spent on the field!
We started Friday with a last minute date night when we realized just how few available nights we have in the next few weeks! We went to Leo’s for the second time and their food is really incredible.
When we got home, I packed up lots of snacks for our busy weekend! I often get asked about what I bring for food to games. It typically looks something like this! The boys love little sandwiches on Kings Hawaiian rolls, cheese and crackers, perfect bars, protein balls and fruit/veggies!
Saturday morning, Lincoln played his next playoff game and the last before the championship. They won and then went on to win the whole tournament on Monday night! Their team was 16-0 for the season and The Hubs sure is proud of his coaching record! 🙂
Cooper’s tournament was out near the beach, so we got to eat at one of my favorite spots, The Deck, in between games. It is such a fun spot with live music, plenty of outdoor games, swing seats and plenty of sandy shoreline along Lake Michigan.
Father’s Day morning we were up and at em early! I wore one of my fave baseball mom getups and if you don’t have any of these $8 tanks, snag a few. They’re a definite closet staple for me.

I forced Father’s Day pictures in the parking lot and they made me realize Cooper is really about to pass his dad in height! I also love that he wears knickers. The other 2 boys don’t like them, but I love the old school baseball look.
I finished 28 Summers between innings and I really loved it! I can’t even believe how much I’ve been reading lately. I’m on my 14th book of 2024! Elin Hilderbrand has turned out to be one of my top faves.
Once we got home, I made a charcuterie board. I had pre chopped some of the cheese up and had to have a little Father’s Day fun with it!
We typically cook filet on the grill and finish in the oven, but I seared them in sage butter in my Hexclad pan and then transferred it to the oven. They turned out AMAZING. I seriously love my Hexclad and if you’re interested that link will save you 10% off your first purchase.
Speaking of Fathers…mine is currently in Thailand having the time of his life meeting my newest nephew! My parents were really worried about the flight since it’s nearly 30 hours of travel time, but they arrived over the weekend and said it wasn’t too bad at all!
A fun, busy and wonderful weekend for sure. I hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend celebrating the men in your life!
