I know we’re 6 days into June, but since I get so many questions about my monthly meal planning, I decided to share the menu! I didn’t get around to making it until yesterday, so we ended up eating some junk. That’s what happens when I don’t plan!
I keep our menu on the DIY menu and calendar board in our mudroom. It’s a lifesaver for me to keep track of everything and when I can see the month’s plans with it, it’s easier to set a meal to a specific date.
You can see my monthly meal planning and shopping post for how I got started with all of this. I don’t monthly shop anymore, because our eating habits have changed since our Whole30 results, but I do plan the month and try to shop weekly. I need to update that post with my current schedule, but at least you can get an idea from that.
I try to add in a new Pinterest meal every week. Sometimes they never get added again and sometimes they’re huge favorites! I put a * next to the ones I haven’t tried yet. All the others are winners!

Now, don’t go thinking I’m some crazy organized person. It is the 6th of the month after all! This is one area that I feel really helps my family with our health as well as our budget, so it’s important to me!
I start by putting meals on the dates that have events, like company, baseball games, etc. Then I fill in around those dates. We tend to do chicken most often and I add in beef, pork and fish, each about once a week. Sometimes we’ll get crazy and go out when it isn’t planned. Sometimes we end up with a lot of leftovers and will skip a planned meal. But for me to stay in the shape I want and to eat dinner at a reasonable time at night, this works great for me!
If you have any questions about meal planning or recipes, let me know!

I am going to try every single one of the recipes you linked! They all look amazing and not very complicated. I know you have young kids, so be honest….do they typically eat what you do? Do you fix them a sandwich and avoid the battle? I am more of a "if you don't eat you'll just be really hungry in the morning" mom, but sometimes if I KNOW they won't even try what I prepared, then I'll make them something different…which I don't want to get in a huge habit of. I have 3 year old twins and one will usually try a bit of everything on his plate, but the other one will fight you tooth and nail and refuse to even think he could possibly like what you set in front of him.

I really need to get into the habit of meal planning. I just feel like my schedule is so all over the place and spontaneous that I never truly have the dedication to sit down and make it happen! You've inspired me!
