Muffin top, Rachel Zoe and Shapewear: Things that make you say bananas.
I’ve never worn shapewear. I’ve never really needed to wear it. And honestly? I’ve never thought that feeling like I needed an oxygen tank during my night on the town was worth looking skinnier.
But then I became a mom of 2. And that mom pooch got a little, errr, looser. So I bought a shapewear tank, wore it once, and thought I was going to die. Literally. Not the Rachel Zoe kind of die, either. Yes, I looked flatter. No, it wasn’t worth it.
But I decided to give shapewear another try. I mean, anything that Rachel Zoe calls a “Major Must Have” is worth giving a shot.
Jockey and Rachel Zoe partnered to create this stylish, comfortable, solution-based apparel that has Rachel’s style and sophistication.
I was sent an assortment of shapewear and intimates from Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey line. The first thing I grabbed was the Strappy Tank. Check out the patented three-panel design.
I figured it would be best to try it with my everyday wear, and I was very impressed with the results.
The top “befores” show some muffin lovin’, and the inevitable mom pooch. But the bottom “afters” show how the shapewear creates smooth lines and holds everything in place. It even made my shirt lay flat.
But the best part? It was comfortable. Like, surprisingly comfortable. But just to make sure, I wore it all day. And I didn’t die. I didn’t even hurt. It actually felt good and supportive.
Oh, and no oxygen tank required.
Then there is the Tummy Short. It rocks major all-day curve control so you can wear it under a pencil skirt or this season’s hot trend, the high-waisted pant. They have a two-ply tummy panel and a single-ply leg opening. I love that the leg is fitted enough to make my thighs look slimmer but without binding in a way that creates that lovely “I’m wearing shapewear” leg bulge.
The Slip Shaper is amazing. LBD approved. The top is a stretch cotton bodice just like the tank. It is loose enough to wear with your own bra and never squeezes to make you look like you have a uniboob. Just looking at the top, you’d think it was your favorite Jockey tee.
Slips in general have a tendency to ride up, but not this one. There’s a subtle silicone strip at the hem that keeps it in place. I felt like everything was so smooth and flat when I put the Slip Shaper on that I kinda wanted to walk the runway in it. If only Jockey could get me some longer legs…
In addition to the amazing line of shapewear, Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey line also includes intimates. The bikinis, thongs, hipsters, boyshorts and tanks in fashion-forward colors and prints have that same perfect fit that the shapewear offers. The bottoms are a “cheeky” cut with a very modern silhouette. Nothing was bunching, squishing or riding. Just comfortable and well-fitted.
Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey are available now in major retailers, Jockey outlet stores, and on Jockey.com.
This line is sure to fit your needs without compromising comfort or style. Whether you have a day full of meetings, a night on the town, or just want to feel and look your best on a daily basis, you won’t be disappointed.
When you are getting together that perfect outfit, remember: what’s underneath is just as important!
BlogHer wants to give you a chance to win a $100 Jockey gift card!
Tell me about a time you wish you were wearing shapewear and you’ll be entered for a chance to win!

I wish I was wearing shapewear on our cruise to the Bahamas! I had the cutest dress on and even though my husband kept telling me that I looked amazing all I kept focusing on was the baby pooch from my 1 year old. I was so uncomfortable with how I felt I looked but hubby loved it so I kept it on! That dress was rockin' and I would love to feel like a skinny-minnie in it!

EVERYDAY
B. Edge says
I remember the day I was the matron of honor at my friends' very casual backyard vows. It was a beautiful day, but I felt very self-conscious of how I looked in my clothes. I picked something a little frumpy and too big because I didn't think I looked good enough in my 'nice' clothes. Mayb I should give these shapers a try!
